I loved to see you smile
I loved your shining eyes
I loved the way you laughed
I thought that you'd be mine

I loved the conversations
That kept us up at night
That we could disagree
But that we'd never fight

I loved the way you held me
Never wanted to let go
I loved the warmth you gave me
And wanted you to know

But now to you I'm nothing
And now we walk away
I never want to hear you
Or see the light of day

Now I hate your smile
I hate your lovely curves
I hate your soothing voice
I hate that I don't deserve

To live and laugh and grin
With you right by my side
Now I hate my wanting
And what you did decide

I hate that I still need you
I hate that you don't care
But if you change your mind
I swear that I'll be there

I know my words won't reach you
I know your mind is set
I know that I can't change you
But I can't just give up yet

I'll never be your "someone"
I'll only be your friend
But even knowing that
I'll want you 'til the end

I don't think that it's fair
I feel like I could die
If you truly do not want me

Another poem. I seem to be reading a lot of poetry lately... Ah, well, it's a nice change of pace.

Inspired by... Well, I don't know. Just... I guess from the poems I've been reading lately. It seems I read a lot of sad poems. Still, I like this. The simplicity of it all. And it's probably relatable for a lot of people, at some time or another.

But, yeah, inspired by sad poetry. Also music. Inspired by all of the Killswitch Engage and Five Finger Death Punch I've been listening to. Who knew metal could inspire this?
